With extensive retail experience and expertise our client sees itself working across numerous regions of the world; designing, sourcing and managing bespoke display projects and fixture roll-outs from concept sketch through to direct delivery. 

As part of the company’s ongoing growth they are seeking an experienced Technical Designer to become a key contributor to the company’s on-going success;   with the client also looking out for a less experienced candidate to take on a more junior role within the team to learn and develop with the company.

Liaising closely with Project Managers, suppliers and where necessary, the customer, you will ensure the satisfactory design execution on time, within budget and to company quality standards.  As the more experienced designer you will be expected to take ‘ownership’ of key development projects from early concept through to detail design incorporating prototyping and value engineering.

The main duties will include but not be limited to:

-      Developing concept sketches to support new business projects, taking account of all critical

success factors within desired cost and manufacturing parameters.

-      Taking active involvement in the project estimating process to provide proactive value analysis and optimum cost efficiencies.

-      Working directly with the global supply base to assist with technical queries and to maintain full

awareness of manufacturing processes and techniques.

-      Producing CAD drawings, specifications and BOM’s for manufacture of prototypes and production roll-outs.

Experience and qualifications required for the role but not subjected to:-

-         BSC/BA (Hons) in product/industrial design (or equivalent)

-         Excellent IT skills, numeracy and analytical ability

-         Demonstrable ability with Solidworks and/or AutoCAD design software with knowledge of other design tools such as illustrator or Photoshop an advantage

-         A good appreciation of the relevant manufacturing processes and materials

-         Good attention to detail with a disciplined approach to time management
